Online games - Blackjack
A game loved by many, Blackjack combines skill, experience, a bit of luck and even maths. There is a movie made about it called "21" that shows the true story of how a group of MIT students made a fortune counting cards and winning big in Vegas.
The object of the game is to beat the dealer. It is a known fact that in every casino game there something called "the house edge" which means that the rules are set in such a way that the house has more chances of winning than the people playing against it. Blackjack is the same. Even so, there ARE professional blackjack players that play according to a strategy and manage to win much more than what they lose.
The game is played at a semi circle table with the dealer at the center. Each player can make a bet by placing his chips in front of him. Blackjack originally started being played with only one or two decks of cards but now casinos use four, six and eight decks. It can be played with the cards dealt face down only for the players to see but the most popular version of blackjack is to deal the cards face up. Each card has a number of points to it and, when added up, your goal is to get as close to the number 21 as you can, without exceeding it. If you go over 21, it is called a "bust" and you lose your bet.
If the dealer busts you win no matter your number of points. Suits do not make a difference, only points. That is, cards from 2-10 will have as many points as you can read. Any face card is 10 points and the Ace can play both 1 and 11. When receiving their initial two cards the player has different choices. They can either ask for another card, stand, double the bet on only one more card or split the cards to two new bets if the initial cards are identical. If they lose to the dealer either because the player went bust or the dealer got a better point number, the bet is lost. If you play and win, you double your money and if you're lucky enough to get a blackjack (21 points formed of an Ace and either a ten or a face card) you win 3 to 2 on your money.
I hope you'll feel the thrill of winning and have fun at the tables!
