The annoying ban on cellular phones

There’s a long-standing ban on using cell phones and other electronic communications devices in sports books.
Nevada Gaming Commission voted last month to repeal this ban. Nevada’s casinos couldn’t be happy enough and soon all the signs that prohibits a cell phone use are going to disappear.

Nevada’s largest sports book operator is Leroy and its director, John Salerno, explained why the ban has been so annoying for them and their clients. He claimed that it’s simply senseless that a man cannot talk on the phone with his wife and in the same time make his bets. And people really didn’t understand why they had to interrupt the games and go to talk on the phone elsewhere.

He also affirmed that the race book incomes will definitely rise, now that the ban has been lifted, because betters won’t miss any race by walking out to make personal calls.
All regulators agreed that the cell phone ban is useless in a world where betting information is widely available on the internet.
Besides, Gaming Commission Chairman, Pete Bernhard, said that regulators can take enforcement action at any time against sports books that are allowing communication with illegal bookies.

Also if the ban has been repealed, Leroy’s director confirms that they will prevent their customers from talking on their cell phones while doing their bets.
