The Fantasy Springs Resort Casino hosted some young boxing fans to show them what a fight of the year is. Antonio Margarito, the IBF Welterweight Champion will fight against Miguel Cotto, the WBA Welterweight Champion on July 26th. The event will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on flat screens throughout the casinos.
Cotto was born and raised in Puerto Rico, he is 26 years old and he is boxing since he was 11 and he definitely loves this sport. He has an impressive professional record (32-0, 26 KOs) and of course he wants to the number one Welterweight in the world. With 125 amateur fights he was the National Amateur Boxing Champion from 1997 to 2000. He also represented his country in the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in 2000. He beat champions like DeMarcus Corley, Randall Bailey Cesar Bazan and Carlos Maussa.
Margarito is Mexican, 30 years old, and he is one of the most feared boxers in the game. His record is (36-5 with 26 KOs) and he has a great hitting power. Besides, he’s a 2 time welterweight champion. Last year he has been defeated by Paul Williams. Recently he won the IBF welterweight title, because he beat Kermit Cintron on April this year.
