Originally the place for the WSOPE shouldn’t have been Leicester Square in London, but at the end all events of the WSOPE will be held there. There’s already a preliminary list of players who are expected to participate at the festivities. Leicester Square is in the heart of London and the casino on the Square, called The Casino at the Empire is the newest of several London Clubs International sites previously named in the events. First the events were planned to be at the London Clubs International the Sportsman and Fifty, where in 2007 the play took place. Also Golden Nugget and Rendezvous were under consideration to be the right place for the events.

The complete 2008 WSOPE schedule:

1. Event on September 19th - £ 1, 500 No-Limit Hold’em Day 1A, 2 opening days and 3-day event.  
2. Event on September 22nd - £ 2, 500 H.O.R.S.E., a 3 day event.
3. Event on September 24th - £ 5, 000 Pot Limit Omaha, a 3 day event.
4. Event on September 27th - £ 10, 000 World Championship No-Limit Hold’em, a 5 day event and 2 opening days.

WSOPE’s Director of Marketing, Ty Stewart, claimed that they provided more variety and game play.

The players who o should participate at this big event are big poker stars such as: Erick Lindgren, Chris Ferguson, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and there are also et least 3 members of the “November Nine” David “Chino” Rheem, Peter Eastgate, Ivan Demidov.
