Black Enterprise magazine names every year the “40 Best Companies for Diversity” and MGM Mirage, for the 4th year, has a place among these companies. Besides, it’s the only U.S. Company in the gaming industry that compares on the list.

Black Enterprise Editorial Director, Sonia Alleyne, claimed that MGM Mirage is very serious about its diversity efforts, it has excellent in all 4 areas: supplier diversity, senior management, employee base and board involvement.

There are only two companies this year that have all this and MGM Mirage is one of them. MGM Mirage developed the Diversity Champion Training Program, it’s the first exhaustive educational program of its kind in the gaming industry and the Black Enterprise praised the company for it. Besides, the company was also one of two companies on the list to outperform its peers in the categories like supplier diversity, employee population, corporate governance and senior management.

The BE to select the best companies, it had to make a general examination of the diversity executives and CEO’s of about 1,000 gaming companies in the U.S., obviously it surveyed also about 50 global companies with strong U.S. operations. At the end the BE editorial staff ranked the companies.

Year after year, MGM Mirage is getting more and more successful. In 2000, it became the gaming industry’s first company to implement a voluntary diversity initiative.
Last year, MGM Mirage spent $ 1.7 billion on biddable goods and services with Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBEs).

In addition, MGM Mirage has a 12, 4 % African Americans in its workforce.
