In July 2006 a lawsuit was filed.  Five professional poker players and WPT Enterprise Inc., operator of the World Poker Tour ended up in a discussion. After a while, now finally the situation has been cleared. They reached an agreement and the WTP Championship in Las Vegas began with the usual complement of pro’s.

The problem was that the federal and state antitrust laws were violated by the WTP contracts, as the prosecuting party claimed, because the WTP gave names and image rights of their players without any compensation.

The company denies it, but still from now on, there will be new standard release forms for every player. One of the 5 poker players involved in the cause, Chris Ferguson, said that he’s happy that at the end they came to a fair agreement. In the name of all of them he also claimed that they are pleased to participate in WTP tournaments, because the company has created some of the best poker events in the world.

The WTP enterprises itself is also very glad to have solved the problem and look forward to work again with all the players. Two of the five professional poker players will take part in that event for sure.

More news on the WTP enterprises inc., its online casino is going to be upgraded besides, new poker rooms in Spanish and German are going to be launched, as the licensing agreement with CryptoLogic Ltd. should be extended until the 2011. It seems that the WTP and CryptoLogic make a great team and they’re going to bring up new online experience for casino and poker players.

WTP is really going to have a great future, though it signed also a 3 year contract with WagerLogic Ltd., which is a CryptoLogic subsidiary. Besides, WTP wants to upgrade its casino offering to a full online casino with a lot of games. The WTP Enterprises’ CEO affirmed that the collaboration with CryptoLogic is really important and successful.
