Italian Casinos - Electronic chip for terrestrial casinos.
Also the Italian casinos will be controlled by a chip put into a counter to avoid the recycling of money.
Generally speaking, this is the new government policy drew up by the last financial act in 2008: to try to increase the controls for the players in the Italian terrestrial casinos, there are just 3 of them: in Venice, San Remo and Campione d’Italia.
As it already is in most of the western countries, also Italy will identify every player who will come up to the green table, especially every player who decides to change 2.000 € in counter to play roulette, black jack or slot machine.
Today every player who decides to play at one of the Italian casinos, will be registered and identified at the entrance, a practice which obviously is not going to be repeated every time the player changes the money in counter. The companies that administrate the 3 Italian casinos are worried about a possible implementation of this decree, because they see their encashment fade away as they are sure that the players will not be glad about the long lines and the bureaucratic procedures for the change in counter.
Also the Italian Communes who host the casinos are afraid: the slot machines and the green tables guarantee the best part of the takings to the Communes of Venice, San Remo and Campione. The Commune of Venice earns much more money with the encashment of the casinos than with the tax on property which the Italian citizens have to pay.
The Communes fear as well that, because of this decree, their players will get away to other close countries, like Slovenia where the casino player is tackled to less strict rules. In America, this kind of implementation is already in use for a long time, for example in the most famous casino of Las Vegas, the Wynn, the manager trace the players through Rfid (Radio frequency identification) technology, which is inside the counter in form of a chip.
The chip in the counter allows monitoring the bets, the winnings, the loss, the table changes and that guarantees the casino to have the complete information about the client from the entrance to the exit of the casino. So it’s possible that also in Italy will be introduced the Rfid technology to surveillance the games and the counter changes.
The Italian casinos are going through a moment of innovation, in which they risk to lose many clients than so far they love their privacy maybe they will decide to go to play to another country or online.
