For a long time the city of San José tried to prohibit Garden City Casino to operate 24 hours a day. There have been many lawsuits and a legal feud over the regulations and city fees, but finally they reached an agreement.

Over the time of the legal feud, Garden City lost many of its qualified employees and also new employees, who just can’t wait to begin to work, after receiving an offer. Well now the casino is unable to fill vacant positions. Besides Garden City, San José prohibited also other card rooms, like Bay 101, from operating 24 hours a day.

With the new agreement they reached peace and the city allowed the clubs to stay open around the clock, but of course with determined limits. They also reached an agreement concerning the city fees and other payments. Among these payments are also those who have to support gambling addiction programs. Hopefully this agreement will last for a long time.
