Russ Hamilton responsible for the cheating scandal in Ultimate Bet

It seems that in January, there has been some cheating at the popular poker site Ultimate Bet. That’s what the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) released some time ago. The poker company Ultimate Bet now has to repay all the customers who had lost their money in this cheating process.

Besides, the company has to pay a $ 1, 5 million fine. The KGC found out that the responsible one for the whole scandal is Russ Hamilton, who is a former WSOP Main Event champion. After finding out, the KGC released a statement on its web site. R. Hamilton was identified as an individual who is associated with Ultimate Bet and he was the person who benefited most from the cheating process.

These cheating incidents took place between 2004 and the beginning of 2008. KGC’s intention is it to cooperate with appropriate law enforcement agencies to uncover and prosecute the individuals who were involved in the UB cheating incidents. The one who conducted the audit was Frank Catania from Catania Gaming Consultants.

Frank Catania is a former Regulator of the New Jersey State Gaming. He, himself wants to provide the information concerning the cheating incident at the Ultimate Bet, and cooperate also with the proper agencies. The Ultimate Bet cheating showed up for the first time in January. Less than a year after the Tokwiro property had an unfair play at one of its poker room. After that the Tokwiro’s Absolute Poker had to pay a fine of $ 500, 000. The one who fined them was the KGC.

In May this year the owners of Ultimate Bet admitted that there has been some cheating by its employees. The Ultimate Bet is expected to repay about $ 6 million to player’s accounts until November the 3rd 2008. Besides, they have to fire everyone, whom the KGC considers “unsuitable” and they also have to pay a fine to KGC, a fine of $ 1, 5 million.
